After graduating from the Gemological Institute of America in New York, I decided to combine my love of stones and social concerns to create upcycled jewelry. I started to create jewelry out of reused metals and, in addition to the actual crystalline parts usually used in luxury, I used the parts of the rock that are usually discarded. Each stone takes thousands of years to graduate and each inclusion has a lot of story to tell. I didn’t want these stories to be lost. By using all of the parts of the stone, gem cutters are also able to make more money, so it helps support these hard workers as well. Inspired by nature and architecture, I organize my pieces in stories rather than collections.
