I currently live in Madison, Wisconsin, but I’ve lived in Winston-Salem, NC, and Chicago, Illinois as well so I hail from all three. I primarily work with oil paint on canvas or wood-board and focus on natural forms as my subjects. Training myself on how to live more sustainably is my way of contributing to a greater movement to save our planet, and since art and the process of creating is a part of my life that I don’t see ever going away, learning how to be sustainable in my creative process is really important to me. At Duke I am an Art History and Visual Arts combined major. Outside of the classroom, I’ve been really getting into international food cultures and learning about how far we’ve strayed from healthy and sustainable diets as a result of industrialization. God bless Michael Pollan and Samin Nosrat.
